WHAT IS ICF? ICF stands for Insulated Concrete Form — a modern building system that combines reinforced concrete with built-in insulation to create stronger, more energy-efficient homes and buildings.
The system uses interlocking foam blocks that are stacked to form the walls of a structure. Steel reinforcement is added inside, then concrete is poured into the center cavity. Once cured, the foam remains permanently in place, creating a wall assembly that acts as structure, insulation, air barrier, and sound barrier all in one.
